B Kinder Summit 2026!

It was an amazing day for our Kindness Ambassadors. They met with other schools to consider problems that would be solved by showing kindness and to develop a kindness project to implement back at Walters Road.

While it wasn't a competition our idea was recognised as being the standout because of the consideration shown to involving the whole school, the minimal resources needed and for the potential to have a huge impact.

Congratulations to our Kindness Ambassadors, who represented our school so well. We couldn’t be more proud of you.

Father's Day 2026!

This year we celebrated Father’s Day with a 'Breakfast for Champions' with a sausage sizzle and breakfast favourites like muffins. We also had so many dads take on the Father's Day Ninja Warrior Course competition.

The celebration continued with a fantastic performance from both our K–2 and Years 3-6 Pacific Culture Group at assembly.

A huge thank you to Sydney Thunder, the Lions Club, and Foodbank for their contributions that made this event a huge success! We also extend our gratitude to our P&C for running a fantastic Father's Day stall, the community members who volunteered their time, and our dedicated staff who organised these memorable celebrations.

Stage 3 Camp 2026!

Our activities over the three days included: orienteering, bushcraft and damper cooking, flying fox, giant swing, high ropes course, canoeing, archery and raft building.

We need to offer a great big thank you to the students for their behaviour. Once again, we received lovely compliments from the camp instructors.

Thank you to Mrs Harris, Miss Salaa, Mr McNamara, Mrs Devlin, Mrs Duss, Mr Toumazou, Miss Amy and Miss Mann for giving up so much of your time (and sleep) to make camp successful.

Book Week Parade 2026!

Today our students brought the theme ‘Symphony of Stories’ to life during our Book Parade! We saw characters from magical worlds like Harry Potter, classic tales such as Cinderella, and favourite characters from Toy Story, showcasing creativity and imagination.

Thank you to our families who joined us for the parade, it was a wonderful way to share the magic of reading and storytelling!

Blacktown Festival of Performing Arts

We are so proud of our students who showcased their incredible energy, grace, talent and singing at this year’s Blacktown Festival of Performing Arts.

Walters Road co-hosted the evening, and we would like to thank our student Kairos for his engaging presence throughout the event.

A huge thank you to our dedicated staff who assisted in the coordination of the night, choreographed the dances, and prepared our choir for their performance in the Combined Choir.

We also want to thank all the families for their ongoing support and for attending the festival.

Ready, Set, Shine! K-2 and IC Athletics Carnival

Our young athletes sprinted, jumped, and cheered their way through a fun-filled day! Full of energy, bright smiles, and heaps of fun, students gave their best and showed great sportsmanship.

Our Stage 3 students took to the stage on for our Public Speaking Finals, showcasing their confidence, creativity and impressive communication skills.

Well done to every student who prepared, practised and bravely shared their speech with an audience, you should all be very proud of your achievement!

A special congratulations to Kayley (Year 6) and Minha (Year 5), who were selected to progress to the next round of the Blacktown Learning Community Public Speaking Competition. We wish you both the very best as you represent WRPS at the next stage. We’ll be cheering you on!

Roll into fun!

Some of our students from our Inclusive Classes had a fantastic time at the NSW Department of Education’s annual Tenpin Bowling Competition! There was a lot of teamwork, smiles, and plenty of fun!

Stage 2 Public Speaking Finals

A fantastic effort from all finalists for their preparation and courage in delivering their speeches in front of an audience. We are very proud of you!

Congratulations to Aleksija and Kairos, our Year 4 and Year 3 finalists, who will go on to represent our school at the Blacktown Learning Community Public Speaking Competition finals. WRPS will be cheering for you!

Open Day for Public Education Week

The theme, "Inspiring Excellence," truly came to life as our talented students showcased their amazing abilities through elegant and vibrant dances, along with beautiful choir performances.

Thank you to all the families who visited our classrooms and the library for the book fair. We also appreciate the support of our Year 6 students' fundraiser through purchases at the sausage sizzle and cake stall.

A huge thank you to all the staff and parent volunteers whose support made today such a great success. Together, we are inspiring excellence every step of the way!

Mt Druitt Westfield Peformance 2026!

Some of our amazing students showcased their incredible talents at Mt Druitt Westfield as part of Education Week! Their inspiring choir and dance performances truly reflects this year’s theme, "Inspiring Excellence."

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to cheer them on, your support means the world to us! We’re so grateful to the staff who dedicated their time and passion to make these performances possible.

What a fantastic event at the P&C Disco!

Students showed amazing school spirit by proudly wearing their house colours, and the hall was bursting with bright and cheerful energy.

A huge thank you to our wonderful P&C for organising such a colourful and fun event to help fundraise for the Hall AV System Upgrade. Everyone had a great time dancing and celebrating together!

It was full of excitement, enthusiasm, and fun as our students put their athletic abilities on display at our annual Athletics Carnival.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Evans High School students who assisted us at each station. It was a tremendous help! We also greatly appreciate Evans High School for hosting us at their fantastic venue, allowing our young athletes to perform at their best.

We are incredibly proud of all our students for their effort and sportsmanship.

NAIDOC Week Celebration 2026

Our school community came together to honour the rich culture and history of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The smoking ceremony was a meaningful way to show respect for the land and connect to Country, while the stories we heard helped us deepen our understanding of inclusivity.

A heartfelt thank you to Uncle Lex, Uncle Michael, and Mr Cody for their guidance and support throughout this celebration.

NAIDOC celebrations!

Our Year 2–6 students and staff who proudly identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, along with Mrs Tume and Miss Eleyasian, enjoyed a special Walk on Country.

Using their learning from our Dharug Dhalang classes, they identified features of Country and were excited to discover a gunyah—something they hope to recreate in our school garden.

We are so fortunate to live, learn and grow on such beautiful Country.

WRPS Kindness day 2026!

Students brightened the school grounds in their rainbow mufti today. Throughout the day, classes took on kindness challenges, showing what kindness means in action. Our Kindness Ambassadors led the way, and everyone added their own special touch to our Kindness Tree by drawing or writing what kindness looks like to them.

Year 6 Fundraisers - Pyjama Day and Sausage Sizzle!

You all looked wonderful and we could tell you enjoyed those delicious sausage sizzles. Your participation has helped raise funds for the Year 6 Farewell.

Special thank yous to Mrs Crabtree for donating her time to cut bread rolls and serve sausages, and to Mr Upadhyay for organising the donations of drinks and onions for the day! You’re both so generous and very appreciated.

Inclusive Classes Excursion to Bungarribee Park!

As part of their English unit on procedures, students worked together to make sandwiches and pack a picnic by following a procedure they created, putting their teamwork and learning into action.

Mother’s Day Event 2026

We enjoyed coffee and tea, delicious muffins, and tasty goodies together.

Thanks to Costco at Marsden Park for catering our delicious breakfast and helping us celebrate our wonderful Mums.

It was also lovely to have Able Minds serving warm cups of tea and coffee.

Thank you to our fantastic P&C held a wonderful Mother's Day stall to help us celebrate and to our community members who volunteered their time.

Community Phonics Workshop 2026

Thank you to our families who joined us for our Kindergarten Phonics Workshop this afternoon! Your involvement and contributions made the session a wonderful success.

Easter Hat Parade 2026

What a wonderful day we had at our Easter Hat Parade! Our students dazzled with their creative and colourful hats. A big thank you to all the students, staff, and families who joined in the fun and made the event egg-stra special.

Such a fantastic day at the Netball NSW Blacktown Schools Gala Day!

Our Stage 3 Netball Team had an amazing time competing at International Peace Park, showing great teamwork, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm throughout the day. We’re so proud of their effort and energy on and off the court!

Our school came together to celebrate the wonderful cultural diversity that enriches our Walters Road community.

A huge thank you to all the students, staff, and community members who took part by creating stations that helped us learn more about the different cultures represented at our school. We look forward to growing this event next year to celebrate what makes our school so special.

We also loved seeing our students and staff proudly dressed in cultural clothing or wearing orange to mark Harmony Day.

Diversity makes our community stronger, more vibrant, and full of kindness, and today was a beautiful reminder of that.

Light it up blue - Spreading awareness and celebrating Autism and ADHD

Valuing inclusion is essential as together we thrive. We wore blue to raise awareness of Autism and ADHD. We are lucky to have these superpowers in our school community!

ADHD superpowers can include intense hyperfocus, high creativity, rapid problem-solving and immense energy!

Autism superpowers often include exceptional attention to detail, logical thinking, excellent memory and direct communication.

Swimming Carnival 2026

It was a great day at the pool with these WRPS champions! We are proud of their hard work, resilience, big smiles, team spirit and unstoppable energy.

Each swimmer received points for their house for attending and for taking part in their races.

Years 3-6 SRC Leadership Excursion 2026

On Monday 23rd February 2026, our School Captains and SRC representatives from Years 3–6 attended a Leadership Program at Longneck Lagoon.

Students took part in a range of team challenges that helped them build important skills such as self-control, problem-solving, resilience, goal-setting and communication. They worked together, supported one another and reflected on how they can use these skills in their leadership roles at school.

They returned to school feeling proud, confident and excited to use what they learned to make a positive difference at Walters Road Public School.

Women in Science Day at Evans High School 2026

Our Stage 3 girls attended the Women in Science Day at Evans High School, where they were inspired by a panel of STEAM professionals, who shared their journeys and encouraged bold thinking about future pathways.

They participated in exciting hands on STEM challenge, where students worked collaboratively to design and build catapults to launch ping pong balls, fostering creativity, teamwork, problem-solving, and meaningful connections.

We had a wonderful afternoon welcoming families into the classrooms and for the BBQ during our Meet the Teacher event. It was great to see the classrooms filled with excitement!

Year 6 Party Day 2025

It was a splash-tastic day to remember! After an epic 'water fun day' filled with laughter, games, and plenty of soaking wet fun, our Year 6 students ended the celebrations with an incredible colour cloud finale!

With just a few days left before they graduate from primary school, these amazing students made memories that will last a lifetime.

Our annual Presentation Day was a wonderful celebration of our students’ hard work and achievements throughout the year. Families, staff, and students came together to celebrate academic success, sporting achievements, and dedication to learning and overall growth.

Year 6 Farewell 2025

Our Year 6 farewell was truly a magical event!

The evening was filled with music, dancing, and lifelong memories as our Year 6 students celebrated the joy of being together while marking the end of their primary school journey.

This special evening was made possible by the dedication of our fantastic Year 6 teachers and the wonderful parent volunteers who generously gave their time and effort to make the night so special for our students.

We are incredubly proud of our Year 6 graduates and all they have achieved.

Kindergarten 2026 Student Orientation Sessions

We were delighted to welcome our youngest learners for three Orientation sessions. These provided a wonderful opportunity for students who will be attending WRPS Kindergarten in 2026 to explore and become familiar with the school environment. Students enjoyed activities full of smiles, laughter, and creativity as they got a glimpse of what school life will be like.

It was a pleasure to meet our new students, see many familiar faces, and warmly welcome new families into our school community. A special thank you to our P&C for providing tea and coffee during the first session, allowing families a chance to connect.

Grandparents Day 2025

This year, to celebrate our beloved grandparents, we began the morning with an assembly. Our K-2 Dance group, K-6 Choir, and Bollywood Dance group all performed special songs and dances. Students from Kindergarten to Year 6 and our Inclusive Classes shared a poem.

Afterwards, our grandparents joined their grandchildren in the classrooms, creating treasured memories together. Later, they enjoyed a delicious morning tea kindly provided by our fantastic Walters Road Public School P&C.

Staff and students also had the chance to dress up as their grandparents or wear special items like hats and brooches.

Kindergarten 2026 Information Session and Expo!

We believe the Kindergarten 2026 Information Session and Expo is a valuable opportunity for families to become familiar with our school community and the exciting start of their child’s learning journey.
This year’s event included:

- A school tour led by our Student Leaders and Principal, Mrs Gillard, giving families a chance to see the Kindergarten classrooms.

- An informative session about what students will learn in Kindergarten, daily routines, how we support children’s learning and wellbeing, and ways parents can help ensure a smooth transition at home.

- An expo where families could explore some of the learning activities that take place in Kindergarten.

- Opportunities to meet staff from Out of School Hours Care, connect with our school's P&C, and learn about healthy eating from Live, Life, Well.

Change Makers - STEAM Day 2025!

Our amazing STEAM Team worked together coming up with innovative ideas during the Blacktown Learning Comm Change Makers - STEAM Day!

With guidance from our teachers, Miss Burwood and Mrs Borg this year’s theme of sustainable living was reflected in innovative projects and creative problem-solving inspiring all to explore ways we can protect our environment for the future.

With the support of Miss Corinne from Sammat Education throughout our first year of learning, it allowed us to explore creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration in exciting new ways. The day highlighted strong collaboration among our students and demonstrated our school spirit.

Diwali 2025

Our school was alive with vibrant colours as students had the opportunity to wear traditional attire or their brightest clothes to celebrate Diwali.

The festive spirit was further enhanced as students joyfully created beautiful Rangoli designs outside using chalk. These colourful patterns brought even more brightness and happiness to the day.
