Our school events are a wonderful way to build a warm, vibrant community. They help students grow in confidence, make new friends, and celebrate all their amazing achievements. A year at our school!
Inclusive Classes Excursion to Bungarribee Park!
As part of their English unit on procedures, students worked together to make sandwiches and pack a picnic by following a procedure they created, putting their teamwork and learning into action.
Mother’s Day Event 2026
We enjoyed coffee and tea, delicious muffins, and tasty goodies together.
Thanks to Costco at Marsden Park for catering our delicious breakfast and helping us celebrate our wonderful Mums.
It was also lovely to have Able Minds serving warm cups of tea and coffee.
Thank you to our fantastic P&C held a wonderful Mother's Day stall to help us celebrate and to our community members who volunteered their time.
Community Phonics Workshop 2026
Thank you to our families who joined us for our Kindergarten Phonics Workshop this afternoon! Your involvement and contributions made the session a wonderful success.
A special thanks to Miss Gane for her efforts in putting together this valuable session. We look forward to more opportunities to learn and grow together throughout the year!
Anzac Day
We gathered as a school for a special assembly, pausing for a moment of reflection to pay our respects to the brave Anzacs who have served,.

Easter Hat Parade 2026
What a wonderful day we had at our Easter Hat Parade! Our students dazzled with their creative and colourful hats. A big thank you to all the students, staff, and families who joined in the fun and made the event egg-stra special.
We’re also very grateful to our P&C for organising the colouring competition and raffle. Thank you for all your efforts!
Such a fantastic day at the Netball NSW Blacktown Schools Gala Day!
Our Stage 3 Netball Team had an amazing time competing at International Peace Park, showing great teamwork, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm throughout the day. We’re so proud of their effort and energy on and off the court!
Our first Year 6 Fundraiser for the year - Crazy Hair Day!
A very big thank you to all of the students and staff who joined in the Crazy Hair Day fun today.
Your participation and donations have helped support Year 6 to raise funds for their farewell at the end of the year.
Harmony Day 2026 – “Everyone Belongs!”
Our school came together to celebrate the wonderful cultural diversity that enriches our Walters Road community.
A huge thank you to all the students, staff, and community members who took part by creating stations that helped us learn more about the different cultures represented at our school. We look forward to growing this event next year to celebrate what makes our school so special.
We also loved seeing our students and staff proudly dressed in cultural clothing or wearing orange to mark Harmony Day.
Diversity makes our community stronger, more vibrant, and full of kindness, and today was a beautiful reminder of that.

We rocked our socks to celebrate inclusion and the wonderful contributions of people with Down Syndrome in our school and communities. We showed our support by wearing fun and mismatched socks - because different is beautiful!

We enjoyed a silent disco to recognise and celebrate the different ways we all process our senses. It was a fantastic way to embrace our unique perspectives and have fun together!

Light it up blue - Spreading awareness and celebrating Autism and ADHD
Valuing inclusion is essential as together we thrive. We wore blue to raise awareness of Autism and ADHD. We are lucky to have these superpowers in our school community!
ADHD superpowers can include intense hyperfocus, high creativity, rapid problem-solving and immense energy!
Autism superpowers often include exceptional attention to detail, logical thinking, excellent memory and direct communication.
Swimming Carnival 2026
It was a great day at the pool with these WRPS champions! We are proud of their hard work, resilience, big smiles, team spirit and unstoppable energy.
Each swimmer received points for their house for attending and for taking part in their races.
A special shout out to the families who cheered them along - thank you!
Years 3-6 SRC Leadership Excursion 2026
On Monday 23rd February 2026, our School Captains and SRC representatives from Years 3–6 attended a Leadership Program at Longneck Lagoon.
Students took part in a range of team challenges that helped them build important skills such as self-control, problem-solving, resilience, goal-setting and communication. They worked together, supported one another and reflected on how they can use these skills in their leadership roles at school.
They returned to school feeling proud, confident and excited to use what they learned to make a positive difference at Walters Road Public School.
Women in Science Day at Evans High School 2026
Our Stage 3 girls attended the Women in Science Day at Evans High School, where they were inspired by a panel of STEAM professionals, who shared their journeys and encouraged bold thinking about future pathways.
They participated in exciting hands on STEM challenge, where students worked collaboratively to design and build catapults to launch ping pong balls, fostering creativity, teamwork, problem-solving, and meaningful connections.
Meet the Teacher 2026
We had a wonderful afternoon welcoming families into the classrooms and for the BBQ during our Meet the Teacher event. It was great to see the classrooms filled with excitement!
We are looking forward to a fantastic year ahead, full of learning, growth, and fun!
Year 6 Party Day 2025
It was a splash-tastic day to remember! After an epic 'water fun day' filled with laughter, games, and plenty of soaking wet fun, our Year 6 students ended the celebrations with an incredible colour cloud finale!
With just a few days left before they graduate from primary school, these amazing students made memories that will last a lifetime.
Presentation Day 2025
Our annual Presentation Day was a wonderful celebration of our students’ hard work and achievements throughout the year. Families, staff, and students came together to celebrate academic success, sporting achievements, and dedication to learning and overall growth.
Congratulations to all our award recipients, you make us proud! This special event highlighted the growth and talents of students as they continue their learning journey.
Year 6 Farewell 2025
Our Year 6 farewell was truly a magical event!
The evening was filled with music, dancing, and lifelong memories as our Year 6 students celebrated the joy of being together while marking the end of their primary school journey.
This special evening was made possible by the dedication of our fantastic Year 6 teachers and the wonderful parent volunteers who generously gave their time and effort to make the night so special for our students.
We are incredubly proud of our Year 6 graduates and all they have achieved.
Kindergarten 2026 Student Orientation Sessions
We were delighted to welcome our youngest learners for three Orientation sessions. These provided a wonderful opportunity for students who will be attending WRPS Kindergarten in 2026 to explore and become familiar with the school environment. Students enjoyed activities full of smiles, laughter, and creativity as they got a glimpse of what school life will be like.
It was a pleasure to meet our new students, see many familiar faces, and warmly welcome new families into our school community. A special thank you to our P&C for providing tea and coffee during the first session, allowing families a chance to connect.
Stage 2 Excursion 2025
Stage 2 had an exciting day at Brewongle Environment Education Centre!
As part of their Geography Unit on the Earth's Environment, students explored nature through fun hands-on activities like net dipping, soil testing, and building shelters.
They even learned all about the fascinating Tawny Frogmouth!
Grandparents Day 2025
This year, to celebrate our beloved grandparents, we began the morning with an assembly. Our K-2 Dance group, K-6 Choir, and Bollywood Dance group all performed special songs and dances. Students from Kindergarten to Year 6 and our Inclusive Classes shared a poem.
Afterwards, our grandparents joined their grandchildren in the classrooms, creating treasured memories together. Later, they enjoyed a delicious morning tea kindly provided by our fantastic Walters Road Public School P&C.
Staff and students also had the chance to dress up as their grandparents or wear special items like hats and brooches.
Kindergarten 2026 Information Session and Expo!
We believe the Kindergarten 2026 Information Session and Expo is a valuable opportunity for families to become familiar with our school community and the exciting start of their child’s learning journey.
This year’s event included:
- A school tour led by our Student Leaders and Principal, Mrs Gillard, giving families a chance to see the Kindergarten classrooms.
- An informative session about what students will learn in Kindergarten, daily routines, how we support children’s learning and wellbeing, and ways parents can help ensure a smooth transition at home.
- An expo where families could explore some of the learning activities that take place in Kindergarten.
- Opportunities to meet staff from Out of School Hours Care, connect with our school's P&C, and learn about healthy eating from Live, Life, Well.
Change Makers - STEAM Day 2025!
Our amazing STEAM Team worked together coming up with innovative ideas during the Blacktown Learning Comm Change Makers - STEAM Day!
With guidance from our teachers, Miss Burwood and Mrs Borg this year’s theme of sustainable living was reflected in innovative projects and creative problem-solving inspiring all to explore ways we can protect our environment for the future.
With the support of Miss Corinne from Sammat Education throughout our first year of learning, it allowed us to explore creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration in exciting new ways. The day highlighted strong collaboration among our students and demonstrated our school spirit.
Diwali 2025
Our school was alive with vibrant colours as students had the opportunity to wear traditional attire or their brightest clothes to celebrate Diwali.
The festive spirit was further enhanced as students joyfully created beautiful Rangoli designs outside using chalk. These colourful patterns brought even more brightness and happiness to the day.
Stage 3 Camp 2025
Our Stage 3 students had an exciting and educational camp exploring some of Australia's most iconic sites. They visited the Australian War Memorial, where they learned about the nation's history and bravery.
At Questacon, the National Science and Technology Centre, students enjoyed hands-on exhibits and interactive activities that sparked their curiosity and creativity.
They also toured The Mint and Old Parliament House, gaining insight into Australia's heritage and government. It was a memorable experience full of learning and fun!
Donuts for Dad and P&C Father's Day Stall
Our Donuts for Dad morning was a wonderful event where students enjoyed tasty treats while celebrating their fathers, grandfathers, and other important father figures in their lives.
One of the highlights of the morning was our annual Ninja Warrior Dad of The Year Challenge! The competition was fierce with so many determined contenders. The fastest time recorded was 20 seconds!
Thanks to our P&C Father’s Day Stall, families had the opportunity to choose thoughtful gifts that made the day even more meaningful and special.
Blacktown Festival of Performing Arts 2025
The Blacktown Festival of Performing Arts was a shining moment for many of our talented students. They captivated the audience with their vibrant dance performances and beautiful choir singing, showcasing their dedication and skill.
It was wonderful to see our students shine brightly on stage, celebrating their creativity and hard work in this special Blacktown community event.
Book Week 2025
This year, our Book Parade invited everyone to 'book an adventure'! From enchanting fairy tales to exciting faraway lands, each costume told its own unique story. Our students truly brought their favourite stories to life, creating a vibrant and imaginative celebration of reading and creativity.
The event also highlighted the wonderful community spirit at our school, as families, teachers, and students came together to share in the joy of storytelling and support a love of books.
P&C Friendship Disco 2025
Throughout the year, our wonderful P&C hosts a variety of fundraisers to support our school community.
In recognition of 'Bully No Way Week,' they organised a friendship disco that was a huge success. Their incredible decorating skills truly “brightened the room,” creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere filled with friendship vibes.
Students had a fantastic time dancing and celebrating together, embracing the values of kindness and friendship in a fun and joyful way!
Mt Druitt Westfield Performance 2025
As part of Public Education Week, some of our talented students took the stage at Mt Druitt Westfield and truly shone, including the vibrant Pacific Culture Group, the lively K-2 Dance, the dynamic 3-6 Dance, and our beautiful choir.
Each performance showcased the incredible talents and hard work of our students, making the event a memorable celebration of learning and creativity.
Public Education Week and Open Day 2025
During Education Week, we warmly invited our parents and carers to join us for an exciting open day.
Families explored our classrooms, visited the library for the book fair, and supported our Year 6 fundraiser by purchasing from the sausage sizzle and cake stall.
The theme "Ignite Your Potential" came alive beautifully as our talented students dazzled the audience with energetic dance routines, including performances by our Bollywood Dance Group, Pacific Culture Dance Group, K-2 and 3-6 Dance groups, along with uplifting choir performances. It was inspiring to hear some of our students share what sparks their passion and drives their potential.
